P R O F E S S I O N A L D E V E L O P M E N T Building Interpersonal Skills: An Experiential Workshop T his immersive course focuses on building and sustaining relationships. It is highly experiential and hands-on. You will learn to create connection and trust through deeper listening to others and increased awareness of your own feelings, perceptions, and behav- iors. These skills can be applied with friends and family, and at work. The course is based on peer-to-peer learning in small groups where you can practice skills in real time. Wisdom in groups can also help uncover previously unseen aspects of yourself. We use a combination of class exercises and T-groups (“T” is for training), each with a facilitator and up to 12 participants. T-group is an experiential way of learning about yourself and others that is the cornerstone of the flagship “Inter- personal Dynamics” course at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. This course requires your full engagement and active participation. Interacting closely with others also requires a good stock of emotional resilience. You will experiment with listening fully, giving and receiving honest feedback, and expressing yourself more authentically. We hope you will leave with a greater understanding of how to communicate effectively in a diversity of environments so you can develop satisfying interpersonal relationships. Advanced-level proficiency in spoken English is required. A high level of participation is also required, and students must commit to attending the first three sessions.
